Richard Crouse gave the film three stars and composed, "It's fitting, that given the setting of the film, that Coast is the identical of a summer shoreline perused. In spite of a few clunky, sincere dialogue—'I need to remain here with you but I need to be a doctor,' sounds like a rejected line from a Trademark movie—the motion picture does what it set out to do, put a modern turn on a classic genre."[6]
